About IT Unit

The IT working group is responsible for the operation and further development of a modern IT infrastructure from server to the end device. In addition to standard services such as Internet access, e-mail, telephone, printing and data backup, special hardware and software is integrated according to the individual requirements of the scientific departments, working groups and administration.

To fulfill this task, several high-performance computers are used to virtualize a large number of special servers. All common operating systems with a focus on Linux systems serve as a basis.

Besides the personal support of all users within the scope of our services, it is the task of the IT working group in close cooperation with the scientists and the administration to optimize the organizational processes for all participants.
